Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the short-term outcome of pure laparoscopic right donor hepatectomy in living donor liver transplantation at 108 Military Central Hospital. Subject and method: A retrospective study of 27 donor cases who underwent pure laparoscopic right donor hepatectomy from November 2021 to December 2023 at 108 Military Central Hospital. Result: The average age was 33.6 ± 9.3 years, and 62.96% of the donors were male. The mean remnant liver volume was 39.8 ± 7.1%, the mean graft size was 635.0 ± 937 grams, the mean operative time was 255.3 ± 58.7 minutes, the mean time for parenchyma resection was 71.6 ± 21.4 minutes, the mean blood loss: 246.3 ± 93.9mL. The patients were followed up for 3-20 months after surgery; complication rate was witnessed in 3 cases (11.1%), all of which were biliary leaks, managed successfully with percutaneous drainage in two instances and reoperation in 1 case. Conclusion: Our short-term outcome of pure laparoscopic right donor hepatectomy in living donor liver transplantation shows that this technique is a safe and feasible option.
