Study on the effectiveness of oral cyclosporine in the treatment of patients with severe psoriasis vulgaris at National Hospital of Dermatology-Venereology

Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of cyclosporine (3mg/kg/day) treatment in severe psoriasis. Subject and method: 35 severe psoriasis patients treated with cyclosporine (3mg/kg/day) for 10 weeks. Endpoint outcome was PASI 75. Result: Reduction of PASI from baseline was 78.33%. Good response 74.2%, medium response 22.86%, 2.86% had no response. Liver enzyme, serum creatinine did not raise after treatment. Some adverse events: Headache (5.71%), fatigue (11.43%), hypertension (2.86%). Conclusion: Cyclosporine A is effective treating psoriasis vulgaris.
