Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the results of conventional psoriasis treatment with topical Potriolac gel combined with oral methotrexate. Subject and method: It was a comparative controlled clinical trial study on 35 patients with moderate and severe psoriasis. Result: In the study group, there were 80% of male and 20% of female patients, with average age of 56.8 ± 10.5; 34% and 66.7% of patients with moderate and severe psoriasis, respectively. All were in active disease stage. Before treatment, patients with severe level,  moderate level and mild level were 74.3%, 25.7% and 0%, respectively. After treatment, the patient with mild level, moderate level and severe level  were 88.6%, 11.4% and 0%, respectively. Before treatment, PASI score was 24.6 ± 7.3, after treatment it was 0.2 ± 0.3 and PASI score was reduced by 99.01%. Treatment costs was 50% lower than imported drugs. Conclusion: The combination of topical Potriolac gel with methotrexat in the treatment of moderate and severe psoriasis achieved good results. Potriolac gel has few side effects, is easy to use.
