Abstract
Objective: Comparison of risk factors for Candidemia Candida spp in newborn infants. Subject and method: The retrospective study of the risk factors associated with Candidemia in two groups of children infected with C. albicans and C. non-albicans on 90 newborns admitted to Children’s Hospital 1 from June 2014 to June 2019 was diagnosed with Candida blood infection. Result: There were no differences in gestational age, birth weight, sex, date of admission, birth disability, abdominal surgery, intubation rates and retention time, number and duration of antibiotic use before fungal infection, the rate of using anti-H2, duration of intravenous lipid feeding. The C. non-albicans group compared with C. albicans had a higher rate of catheter use and length of retention of central venous catheters, longer duration of intravenous feeding, longer duration of antibiotic use, and length of hospital stay prolonged. Conclusion: The rate of catheter placement, retention time of central venous catheter, duration of venous feeding, duration of antibiotic use, hospitalization period of C. non-albicans group was longer than that of C. albicans group.
