Abstract

Summary

The blue rubber bleb nevus syndrome (BRBNS) is the rare disorder characterized by distinctive vascular malformations of the skin and gastrointestinal tract. It may also involve the brain, liver, lungs, and skeletal muscles. We reported a case of blue rubber bleb nevus syndrome. A 33-year-old female visited our hospital with tiredness and dizziness; upon examination, we found multiple venous malformation lesions on gastric and colon. We were able to diagnose her as suffering from blue rubber bleb nevus syndrome and we treated her with endoscopic ligation, blood transfusion, iron supplementation, proton pump for stopping to recurrently bleed and avoid risks involved in blood transfusions.
