Abstract

Objective: The study aimed to find factors associated with the outcome of ectopic treatment with single-dose methotrexate. Subjects and method: A cross-sectional, retrospective descriptive study at National Hospital of Obstetrics and Gynecology. A total of 108 patients diagnosed with ectopic were treated by single-dose methotrexate between January 1, 2021 and December 31, 2021. Result: The group of patients without fluid in the pouch of Douglas was 14.4 times more likely to be successfully treated than the group of patients with the fluid (p=0.003), patients with βhCG level below 1000 (IU/l) were 8.09 times more likely to be successfully treated than patients with βhCG level higher than 1000 (IU/l) (p=0.007), patients with a fetal mass size of ≤ 1.5cm were 4.88 times more likely to be successfully treated than patients with a fetal mass size of > 1.5cm (p=0.04). Conclusion: The patients without fluid in the pouch of Douglas, the concentration of βhCG, the smaller the size of the pregnancy mass, the higher the success rate.
