Thực trạng sử dụng y học cổ truyền trong chăm sóc giảm nhẹ ở bệnh nhân ung thư điều trị tại Bệnh viện Y học cổ truyền Trung ương năm 2019

Abstract

Objectives: To describe the use of traditional medicine methods in palliative care in inpatient cancer treatment at the National Hospital of Traditional Medicine 2019. Subject and method: A cross-sectional descriptive study on 70 patients diagnosed with cancer with stages I to IV, inpatient treatment at the National Hospital of Traditional Medicine, 2019. Result: The mean age of study patients was 59.8 ± 11.2 years old, 85.7% female, and 14.3% male. Among them, the rate of using traditional medicine methods in palliative care was as follows: 100% used herbal medicine (decoction, preparations); 71.4% used massage/reflexology; 60% used acupuncture; 15.7% used relaxation training. 100% of patients used traditional medicine in symptomatic palliative care. That percentage in nutritional care and improvement was 87.1%, psychological and spiritual care was 42.9%, and other care was 8.6%. Conclusion: Herbal medicine, massage/reflexology, and acupuncture used in symptomatic palliative care, nutritional care, and psychological and spiritual care in cancer patients
