Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the initial result and toxicity of stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) for patients with multiple brain metastases from non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Subject and method: A retrospective study on 34 NSCLC patients with 2-15 brain metastases were treated by SRS; follow-up between August, 2019 to March, 2023. Evaluation criteria were Objective Response Rate (ORR), Brain Progression Free Survival (PFS), Overall Survival (OS) and toxicity. Result: Objective response rate (ORR) 79.4%, complete response rate 26.5%, partial response rate 52.9%, stable disease 14.7%. Median OS and brain PFS were 12 months and 10 months. The rate of local control after 4 months and 6 months were 97.1%, 82.4%, respectively. The main toxicities were grade 1-2 include headache 32.3%, nausea, dizziness 17.6%. There were 3 cases of grade 3 toxicity (8.8%). Conclusion: SRS is a safe and effective treatment option for NSCLC patients with multiple brain metastases with minor toxicity.
