Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the refractive outcomes of combined phacoemulsification and goniosynechialysis for primary angle-closure glaucoma (PACG) with cataract using the Barrett Universal II formula. Subject and method: 45 eyes with primary angle-closure glaucoma and cataracts undergone Phaco/IOL-GSL surgery using the Barrett Universal II formula. The refractive results were evaluated by 2 indicators: Spherical equivalent and mean absolute errors (MAE) at 1 month after the intervetion. Result: There were 40/45 eyes in the study group archieved SE within ±1D accounting for 81%. 29 eyes (64.4%) got the postoperative SE within ± 0.5D. Postoperative Mean Absolue Error was 0.46 ± 0.54D. Conclusion: Barrett universal II helped to get relatively good refractive outcome after Phaco-GSL for PACG eyes with cataract.
