Evaluation early results of mediastinal tumour resection by single-port video-assisted thoracoscopic

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate early results of single-port video-assisted thoracoscopic mediastinal tumor resection. Subject and method: Prospective and descriptive study for all patients, who had mediastinal tumor and were operated with single-port video-assisted thoracoscopic. Result: 35 cases (20 males - 15 females) with mediastinal tumor were treated with single-port thoracoscopic mediastinal resection at Viet Duc Hospital and 108 Military Central Hospital from August 2015 to October 2016. The average size of tumors: 4.3 ± 2.5, the mean operating time were 120 ± 30 minutes, 2 patients were converted to open surgery, 2 patients needed 1 addition incision, the mean removing of tube chest time was: 4 ± 1 days. The mean treatment time was 7 ± 2 days. Complication: 01 patient reopen, 03 incision infection. Conclusion: This method has advantages such as small incision, cosmetic, short hospitalization.
