Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the status of the upper limb’s secondary lesions in stroke patients with hemiplegia in the early stages. Subject and method: 77 stroke patients were examined and treated at the Neurology Department, Bach Mai Hospital from October 2014 to April 2015 by the described cross method. Result: The percentage of patients with shoulder pain was 50.7%, shoulder - hand syndrome was 46.8% and subluxation in shoulder was 10.4%. Conclusion: Morbidity secondary upper limb in stroke patients with hemiplegia in early stage was high. Thus, the care, prevention and treatment the secondary lesions in the stroke patients with upper limb hemiplegia is a matter for concern.
