Abstract

Objective: To devise a plan and procedure for monitoring and caring for patients with facial jaw infection, adhering to clinical symptoms in order to detect complications and manage them promptly. Subject and method: A retrospective study of monitoring and caring of 72 patients with facial infections (including 51 men, 21 women; ages 10 to 92) who were treated from January 2018 to January 2020 at Depatment of Maxillofacial and Plastic Surgery. Result: The average age of the patients was 51 years. Sex: Male patients 2.5 times more than female patients. The percentage of patients with inflammation - abscess without surgical removal was 48.6%, the number of patients who have to have surgery to remove pus was 51.4%. The average following-up and caring period was 11 days. 100% of the patients were cared for, followed by diet, dressing, medication, oral hygiene, exercise, and especially monitoring the progress of inflammation. Conclusion: A plan and procedure for monitoring and taking care of patients with facial jaw infections performed at the Department of Maxillo facial and Plastic Surgery during 2 years from 01/2018 to 01/2020 has helped patients closely monitor, timely detection of management complications has brought about good treatment.
