Thực trạng kiến thức, thực hành an toàn truyền máu của điều dưỡng tại Bệnh viện Đa khoa tỉnh Thái Bình năm 2019

Abstract

Objective: To assess knowledge and practice of safe blood transfusion of nurses at Thai Binh General Hospital. Subject and method: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted before and after training from January to July in 2019 on the knowledge and practice of safe blood transfusion of 43 nurses at Thai Binh General Hospital. Result: Research shows that the percentage of nurses who were aware of: Detection of blood type transfusion complications, the cause of blood transfusion complications both before and after training and the percentage of nurses who did not use abnormal blood units were very high (93.5%, 95%); The awareness of nurses about the most important blood type system in the practice of safe blood transfusion both before and after the training was not high (25.6%, 34.9%). Regarding to the safe practice of  blood transfusion of nurses, the percentage of nurses who determined the blood group at the bedside was high in both groups before and after the training (97.7%, 100%), the percentage of  nurses who compared  patients - blood units - blood receipts reached a high rate (88.4%, 100%). In the step of checking the blood bag, the percentage of nurses who did not gently shake the blood bag before training was 27.9% and after the training, this rate was only 2.3%. Conclusion: The study of 43 nurses at Thai Binh General Hospital, we found that regarding to knowledge of nurses: The average overall score of general knowledge of nurses on safe blood transfusion before training was 60.5%; after the training was 67.4%; regarding to practice of nurses: The percentage of nurses performing safe blood transfusion before training was 86%; after training was 95.3%.
