Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the quality of life in donors who underwent hepatectomy. Subject and method: A descriptive cross-sectional study on 30 donors who underwent right hepatectomy in 108 Military Central Hospital between October 2017 and May 2020 were evaluated. The 36 - Item Short Form Survey (SF-36) was used in this study. Result: Mean time duration between hepatectomy and administration of the questionnaire was 10 ± 7.53 months. The median age was 32.30 ± 6.43. The proportion of males and females was 9:1. Mean BMI was 22.21 ± 2.54 years. A total of 3 (10%) complications were observed in donors. The medium postoperative length of hospital stay was 12.87 ± 2.99 days. Donors exceeded a score of 90 in 1 out of 8 evaluated categories on SF-36. The highest mean score was recorded for Physical function 91.33 ± 9.09 and lowest for Physical role limitation 80 ± 40.68. Conclusion: The initial result shows a good quality of life in liver donors in living donor liver transplantation in 108 Military Central Hospital.
