Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the effect of anesthesia and analgesia postoperative of the below knee amputation by combined femoral nerve block (FNB) and sciatic nerve block (SNB) in high-risk patients. Subject and method: 30 patients indicated below knee amputation by combined FNB and SNB, 15ml bupivacaine 0.25%- dexamethasone 4mg each nerve. Evaluation of onset and duration time of sensory blockade, the quality of blockade and the effect of analgesia. Result: The onset time of sensory blockade was 19.4 munites, the duration time of sensory blockade were 15.73 hours. The good quality blockade was 80%. The VAS both the rest and the movement at 0 hour, 3 hours, 6 hours, 12 hours after the blockade were smaller 4. Conclusion: Conbined FNB and SNB by bupivacaine-dexamethasone having the onset time of sensory blockade are 19.4 munites, good quality and safe blockade for the leg amputation and the analgesia till 15.73 hours after blockade.
