Abstract

Objective: To evaluate initial results of 3D application in mandibular reconstruction by free fibula flap at NHOS. Subject and method: Prospective, cross-sectional study on 34 patients. Using 34 fibular flaps with 3D rendering techniques to reconstruct mandibular defects. Started by using digital mandibular reconstruction, calculating the optimal cutting length with the required number of fibula pieces and the bone arrangement to reconstruct the mandible. Result: 34/34 flaps was survived. Surgical time 4.50 ± 1.35 hours, average time of reconstruction with cuuting guide 22 ± 13.5 minutes. Follow-up from 3 to 18 months shows that 85.29% of patients have a symmetrical face, 86.66% of correct bite. Conclusion: The application of digital modeling and guide troughs in plastic surgery can shorten the surgery time and give more accurate results than traditional plastic surgery methods.
