Abstract

Objective: To describe the clinical features, histopathology and to evaluate the results of endoscopic microsurgery for benign lesions of the larynx. Subject and method: Prospective, case-by-case descriptive study on 778 patients diagnosed and treated for benign laryngeal diseases from January 2019 to January 2021. Result: The mean age was 42.47 ± 11.67 years, in which the age group 31 to 50 accounted for the majority (60.7%). Gender ratio: female (72.9%). Occupation: A job that requires a lot of talk (66.1%) Functional symptoms: Hoarseness and loss of voice (100%). Lesions: Vocal cord nodules (41.8%), cysts (23.4%), polyps (28.3%). Degree of improvement in symptoms 1 month after surgery: Good 70.7%, fair 26.5%, bad 2.8%. Conclusion: Outcome after laryngoscopy microsurgery, most of the patients had no hoarseness or significantly reduced hoarseness.
