Comment on some patients’ characteristics and the effective of xylocain 2% after rigid cystoscopy at 108 Military Central Hospital

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate visual analogue scale, lower urinary disorders and the effective of xylocain jelly 2% after rigid cystoscopy. Subject and method: A prospective descriptive study was performed on out-patients who had been undergone the cystoscopy with rigid scope at 108 Military Central Hospital, from Mar 1 to April 30, 2022. Result: There was 38 patients (32 male and 6 female) with 63.4 ± 2.5 years (23 - 91) on average. After cystoscopy, the rates of mild – moderate- severe pain were 42.1%, 47.4% and 10.5%, respectively; also the rates of dysuria and hematuria were 36.8% and 34.2%. The mean VAS score of patient being used xylocain and of others were 2.5 and 4.9, respectively. The study founded that xylocain was effective in reducing dysuria after cystoscopy (p=0.048). Conclusion: Pain during cystoscopy and lower urinary disorders after rigid cystoscopy are very common. Using xylocaine effectively relieves pain, reduces lower urinary disorders
