Observing the characteristics of urinary tract infections in critical care patients at 108 Military Central Hospital

Abstract
Objective: To study on factors related to urinary tract infections in critically ill patients at 108 Military Central Hospital. Subject and method: From 2018 to 2021, 89 patients with urinary tract infections according to the criteria of the Ministry of Health at the intensive care center were included in this study, describing the relevant factors related to the infection status, then drawing conclusions. Cross-sectional descriptive study. Result and conclusion: Male patients were more affected than women, over 65 years old group was more affected than other groups. Leukocytes in urine and high serum procalcitonin concentrations were valuable in the diagnosis of urinary tract infections. Common strains of bacteria causing urinary tract infections were Candida spp. and E. coli.
