Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the process of care for patients after palatoplasty surgery. Subject and method: Retrospective study. A retrospective review of palatoplasty patients at The Center for Craniofacial and Plastic Surgery - 108 Military Central Hospital from September 2018 to May 2022. The patients received overall care and at the surgery site and wound care. Result: There were 65 patients, including 36 male and 29 female. The average of age was 28.3 months, youngest was 13 months, oldest was 55 months. The initial results after surgery: 78.5% patients had good results, 16.9% patients had moderate results and 4.5% patients had poor results. Conclusion: The procedure of care and follow-up of the patients after cleft palate surgery was performed and gave good results. Post-operative care is very important, contributing to early detection, timely treatment and prevention of postoperative complications, helping patients recover well.
