Abstract

Objective: To evaluate of the quality of life of patients after total cystectomy, bladder reconstruction using intestinal for bladder cancer treatment at the Urology Department - 108 Military Central Hospital. Subject and method: Prospective study, using a combination of EROTC-C30 and EROTC QLQ-BLM30 questionnaires. The study included 25 patients who performed radical cystectomy, orthotopic substitution from March 2018 to June 2021 at 108 Military Central Hospital. Result: Most of patients was elderly male with the proportion was 92.0%. The average age was 62.44 ± 9.64 years (30 - 79 years old). Sexual decline was the problem that has the most impact on the patients' lives. The overall quality of life tended to decrease over time after surgery with the overall quality of life score of 3 months, 6 months and 12 months were 81.3 points, 71.7 points and 68.2 points, respectively. However, this result was still higher than the general quality of life before surgery. Conclusion: The overall quality of life of the study participants was improved after radical cystectomy and orthotopic substitution.
