Abstract

Objective: To describe the status of nurses' initiative in patient care and related factors. Subject and method: A cross-sectional descriptive study, surveying all nurses who are directly taking care of patients in treatment departments of 108 Military Central Hospital through self-answering questionnaires. Descriptive statistics are used to describe the characteristics of nurses and the level of initiative in patient care; Tests: T-test, ANOVA, Pearson are used to find the relationship between proactively taking care of patients and some factors. Result: The overall mean score of nurses' initiative in taking care of patients was 3.26 ± 0.38 on a 5-point scale (average). There was a statistically significant average positive correlation between a nurse's level of initiative in taking care of patients with a number of factors such as professional qualifications, annual training time to improve professional capacity. Conclusion: The study shows that the level of nursing initiative in taking care of patients is at an average level, there is a statistically significant average positive relationship between the level of nursing initiative in patient care and the level of patient care with a number of factors such as: Professional qualifications, training time to improve professional capacity every year.
