Abstract

Pain is a common symptom and reduces the quality of life in cancer patients; especially when the disease is advanced or in the terminal stages, pain control is an urgent need. Celiac plexus blocking was first described in 1914 by Max Kappis, and is considered effective in the treatment of pain that is difficult to be controlled with medication, concurrently relieving nausea and vomiting in patients with upper visceral mesenteric organs cancer in general and liver cancer in particular without any serious complications. We report and give some comments on 3 Celiac plexus blocking applied cases to liver cancer pain relief at Imaging Diagnosis Centre, 108 Military Central Hospital.
