Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the result of radiofrequency ablation for atrial fibrillation. Subject and method: A prospective, longitudinal study was carried on 34 atrial fibrillation patients underwent radiofrequency ablation at 108 Military Central Hospital from 3/2019 to 10/2021. The result was recorded on some features of ablation technique, safety and recurrence rate during the follow-up. Result: Paroxysmal atrial fibrillation accounted for the majority (94.11%), 8.9% had other arrhythmias (atrial flutter and supraventricular tachycardia). Procedure time and X-ray exposure time were 272.1 ± 62 minutes and 75 ± 16.5 minutes, respectively. Isolated 4 pulmonary veins was done successfully in 91.17%. Blood vessel wall tear required suturing (5.9%), pericardial effusion (5.9%), pleural effusion (5.9%), acute tricuspid regurgitation (2.9%). The rate of recurrence of atrial fibrillation after ablation was 20.6%. Conclusion: Radiofrequency ablation for atrial fibrillation has high efficacy, low complications and low recurrence rate.
