Abstract

Objective: To analyze the relationship between immunohistochemical markers HER2, CD44, ALDH with endoscopic and histopathological characteristics in gastric adenocarcinoma. Subject and method: A cross-sectional descriptive study; prospective design on 107 patients with confirmed diagnosis of gastric adenocarcinoma and surgical resection of the tumor at K Hospital. Analysis of the relationship between HER2, CD44, ALDH and parameters. Result: Patients with intestinal type had the rate of simultaneous expression of all 3 markers at 14.1%, there was a difference in the concomitant expression of all 3 markers according to Lauren's histopathological characteristics, p<0.05. Patients with mucinous adenomas had the highest rate of concurrent expression of all 3 markers with 16.7%, there was a difference in the simultaneous expression of all 3 markers according to WHO histopathological characteristics, p<0.05. Conclusion: Simultaneous expression of HER2, CD44, ALDH is associated with factors such as Lauren's histopathological characteristics, WHO histopathological characteristics in gastric adenocarcinoma patients.
