Abstract

Objective: To determine the percentage of public high school students in Phan Thiet city, Binh Thuan province with correct knowledge, attitudes and practices (KAP) about acne. To determine the relationships between sample characteristics and KAP about ance in public high school students in Phan Thiet city, Binh Thuan province. To determine the relationships between knowledge and practice about ance in public high school students in Phan Thiet city, Binh Thuan province. Subject and method: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted on 800 students at public high schools in Phan Thiet City in the 2020 - 2021 school year. Result: 27.7% of students had correct knowledge, 40.4% of students had a good attitude and 21.2% of students had correct practice about ance. Female students had 1.45 times as much knowledge as male students. Male students had the right attitude 1.62 times as much as female students. If the grade increases by 1 level, the correct attitude will increase by 0.87 times. Female students had 1.78 times the correct practice as male students. Students in grade 11 had correct practice equal to 1.63 times of students in grade 10. Students with correct knowledge and correct practice were equal to 1.52 times of students with incorrect knowledge. Conclusion: KAP on ance among high school students in Phan Thiet City is low. Gender, grade level have an influence on KAP and correct knowledge helps to improve ance practice among students.
