Chronic periodontitis status of the first diagnosed patients at National Hospital of Odonto - Stomatology Hanoi 2018 - 2019

Abstract
Objective: To Identify the rate of chronic periodontitis and factors related to treatment compliance of patients controlled at the Department of Periodontics, National Hospital of Odonto - Stomatology Hanoi in 2018 - 2019. Subject and method: A cross-sectional study was conducted on 385 patients visited the Department of Pediodontics, National Hospital of Odonto - Stomatology Hanoi for the first time. Result: The study showed the status of poor dental hygiene, severe gingivitis, great pediodontal pocket depth (PPD), clinical adhesion loss (CAL), severe pediodontitis, no patient with good/very good GI and PI. One week after treatment, on the first revisit (T1), there was a decrease in PI, GI, PPD, which had significant level in comparison with the first visit (T0 ) (p<0.001), while the change in CAL did not show the significance (p>0.05). Three months after treatment, at the second revisit (T2), there was a decrease in PI, GI, PPD, which had significant level in comparison with the first re-visit (T1) and the first visit (T0), (p<0.01). This is referred that dental hygiene was being gradually improved after three visit times. The rate of patients visited the department for the second time was 82.3%. The rate of patients visited 3 times (patient adherence) was 39.2%. Conclusion: Most patients went to visit the hospital with severe periodontitis, poor dental hygiene, and not high cooperation and compliance.
