Abstract
Objective: To assess the result of appendiceal peritonitis treatment by laparoscopic surgery at some Northern mountainous general hospitals. Subject and method: A retrospective descriptive study on 468 patients who diagnosed with appendiceal peritonitis and treated by laparoscopic surgery from January 1, 2015 to September 31, 2017 at northern mountainous general hospitals. Result: The success rate of laparoscopic surgery was 97.6%; the reason for conversion to open surgery was mostly due to the inability to cut apendic; almost patients had cut appendix by downstream method; mean time of laparoscopic surgery was 50.35 minutes; 6 patients had early complications after surgery; the mean of time stay in hospital after surgery was 7.13 days. Conclusion: Laparoscopic appendiceal peritonitis surgery at some Northern mountainous general hospitals had a high success rate and low complications rate.
