The initial results of thoracoscopic lobectomy and lymph node dissection for non-small cell lung cancer stage I, II, IIIA

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the initial outcomes of thoracoscopic lobectomy and lymph node dissection in treatment for early stage non-small cell lung cancer. Subject and method: Ninety-eight non-small cell lung cancer stage I, II, IIIA according to the TNM classification 8th who underwent thoracoscopic lobectomy and lymph node dissection. Statistics of general characteristics, lymph node resection, complications and general results. Result: The mean age was 61.3 ± 8.7 years; right upper lobe was the highest proportion (30.6%); the operating time was 143.5 ± 37.3 minutes. The mean of resected lymph nodes was 11.4 ± 5.5. The mean of resected lymph node groups was 3.8 ± 1.6. The rate of good result was 79.6% (78/98). Pain level was assessed by VAS: Level 4 and level 5 were not recorded. Conclusion: Thoracoscopic lobectomy and lymph node dissection for non-small cell lung cancer was demonstrated with low rate complication, good early outcome, mild pain and acceptable technique for oncologic lymphadenectomy.
