Abstract

Lupus nephritis is a common complication of systemic lupus erythematosus and patients can develop chronic kidney disease, end-stage renal disease and increase mortality rate. The current guidelines focus on early diagnosis, accurate classification and individualized care for lupus nephritis patients. Kidney biopsy is necessary for diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of the disease. For proliferative lupus nephritis, the decision tree recommends induction and maintenance therapy. Multi target therapy and B-cell depletion medications are suggested for cases with refractory of treatment.
