The current situation of knowledge, attitude and practice on health care and relationship among the police officer in Nam Dinh provincal public security department in 2019-2020

Abstract
Objective: To describe the current state of knowledge, attitudes and practices on dental care of oral health and analyzing the relationship among police officers and soldiers. Subject and method: A cross-sectional descriptive research was performed with 843 officers and soldiers of Nam Dinh Province's Public Security Department. Sampling intentionally 3 different geographical regions of Nam Dinh province, randomly selecting 2 units for each region, in each selected unit, sampling all police officers and soldiers of each unit. Result: Knowledge of oral health care was not good, accounting for 81%. The attitude towards oral health care was not yet positive at 53.9%. Poor practice of oral health care accounted for 77.0%. Relationship analysis only showed that healthcare knowledge and attitudes were closely related to oral practice. Conclusion: Knowledge and practice of oral health care is still quite limited, although there is an average attitude towards oral health care, it is necessary to include communication programs and oral hygiene guidelines, oral disease prevention methods to improve knowledge, attitudes and ability to practice oral care for police officers and soldiers.
