Abstract

Objective: To examine some clinical features and metabolic syndrome in psoriasis of children at the Central Dermatology Hospital from June 2017 to June 2018. Subject and method: A descriptive study was conducted on 130 children with psoriasis from June 2017 to June 2018. Patients are examined, tested to determine the manifestations of metabolic syndrome. Result: Children aged 6 - 11 years (64.6%). The boys occupied for 55.4%. Most of the disease duration was over 12 months (58.5%). About age onset: 50.0% from 6 - 12 years. The most common functional symptom is itching (occupied 61.5%). 18.5% of patients had nail lesions. In terms of severity: With conventional psoriasis, the incidence of PASI 10 or more was only 20.9%, lower than PASI < 10. There was a statistically significant difference between glucose, triglyceride, HDL and lipid metabolism of children with psoriasis (p<0.05). Conclusion: Psoriasis in children had some component disorders of the metabolic syndrome. Therefore, it is necessary to test, monitor and counsel risks for patients.
