Tóm tắt
Tụy ngoại tiết bài tiết các enzyme tiêu hóa, bicarbonate và dịch đổ vào lòng tá tràng để tiêu hóa thức ăn, hấp thu chất dinh dưỡng. Suy tuyến tuỵ ngoại tiết là tuỵ không đủ khả năng đảm nhiệm đúng chức năng dẫn đến kém hấp thu các chất dinh dưỡng, gây ra các triệu chứng sụt cân và suy dinh dưỡng. Suy dinh dưỡng gây suy giảm miễn dịch, tăng nhiễm khuẩn, biến cố tim mạch, chi phí điều trị, giảm chất lượng sống, giảm thời gian sống còn. Việc thực hiện chế độ dinh dưỡng phù hợp và dùng thuốc thay thế men tụy là thiết yếu trong điều trị người bệnh thiếu hụt enzyme tụy ngoại tiết, nhằm đảm bảo tiêu hóa thức ăn, cải thiện triệu chứng tiêu hóa, giúp hấp thu đầy đủ chất dinh dưỡng, ngăn ngừa hoặc cải thiện suy dinh dưỡng, tăng chất lượng sống, kéo dài thời gian sống còn.
